SAFETY TIPS

Emergency Responder Access
Front-yard family gatherings shall not be located to impeded or block fire department access lanes. Items such as vehicles or similar heavy objects shall not, at any time, obstruct fire lanes, fire hydrants or fire protection systems. You never know when an emergency may occur, so access is crucial!

Bicycle Safety
  • Wear a properly-fitted helmet. It is the best way to prevent head injuries and death.
  • Ride on the sidewalk when you can. Have kids to ride on the right side of the road, with traffic, not against it. Stay as far to the right as possible.
  • Use hand signals and follow the rules of the road.
  • Tie your shoes tight.
  • Wear bright colors and use lights, especially when riding at night and in the morning.
  • Don’t ride with headphones in.
  • Recommended that you walk bike across the street.
  • Parent ride with your children.
  • Watch for and Avoid Road Hazards.
  • Ride responsibly.

Fire Works
What better way to celebrate the Fourth of July than by firing off a couple of fireworks? Each Fourth of July, thousands of people are injured while using and handling fireworks. Remember to only use California approved “Safe and Sane” fireworks. For more information pertaining to fireworks in Huntington Beach, please visit https://www.huntingtonbeachca.gov/fireworks/
