  TEMPORARY STREET CLOSURES FOR
HUNTINGTON BEACH 4TH OF JULY PARADE AND PIER FESTIVAL
 
  Friday, July 4, 2008  
The 4th of July parade route for 2008 will require the closure of PCH from Goldenwest St. to Beach Blvd. starting at 5:00 AM on Friday, July 4. The parade will enter onto PCH at 8th Street, going from 8th to Main Street where it will proceed up Main through the downtown and residential areas, ending just past Yorktown. The parade begins at 10:00 AM and lasts approximately two hours.

Staging areas will take place in the downtown area and include portions of Walnut Ave., Olive Ave., Orange Ave., Pecan Ave., 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th Streets.

Through traffic on PCH will be detoured at Goldenwest St. and Beach Blvd. up to Garfield Ave. PCH will be completely open to traffic no later than 2:00 PM. Residents and guests coming into the downtown off of Goldenwest St. should enter at Palm or Orange Ave. Beach parking may be accessed at Beach Blvd.

Pacific View will be open for access to the Hyatt and Hilton. Twin Dolphin will be closed from 6:00 AM until no later than 2:00 PM.

Following the parade, there will be a children's fair in the downtown area on Main Street between PCH and Olive Ave. The first three blocks of Main Street will remain closed until after the fireworks have concluded.

The Pier will be partially closed to the public all day and completely closed at 5:00 PM. Fireworks will be launched from the end of the Pier. PCH will be closed from Goldenwest Street to Beach Blvd. from 7:00 PM until traffic has dispersed, estimated to be around 11:00 PM. Huntington Street will be closed to through traffic between Atlanta and PCH.
